Riding in a Singapore Taxi

Many Singapore taxi drivers are speedsters. They drive super fast and not necessarily always safe. So always remember to belt up!

There are many types of taxi run by different companies. You can flag them down along the road, join a taxi queue at designated places or simply make an order by calling the operating company. Taxi fares are charged by the metre and receipts can be printed upon request. Most taxi drivers can speak some simple English so communication with tourists is generally not a big issue.

While you can conveniently flag down a taxi along the road, there are also many taxi pick-up and drop-off points at building driveways, including those of shopping malls, hotels, and hospitals.
