Singapore Child Care Centres

What’s a typical Singapore child care centre like?

Run 12 hours daily, 7am to 7pm, from Monday to Friday, these child care centres take over the baton of taking care pre-school children (as young as 18 months) from parents while they go to work. Dual-income families grappling with work and children are a norm here, hence explaining the prevalence and wide-spread of such centres around the country, including those dotting residential neighbourhoods. Parents ritually deposit their children at the centre in the morning before heading for work and rush home to collect them after work in the evening. Enrichment activities in the centres include the grounding of English, mother tongue, Maths, meals, afternoon nap, shower, outdoor walks, watching TV programmes, speech and drama, and art and craft.

aCelebrating birthday with friends at the child care centre is a big deal for every kid. The cake, the song, birthday wishes, presents, and get-together thrill them to bits!

The children love these short walks taken near their centre. In fact any outdoor activity will conjure their excitement.
