Marina Bay Sands, A World Wonder

The Marina Bay Sands, a subsidiary of Las Vegas Sands Corp, is made up of three 55-storey towers with a rooftop garden platform which spans all three towers. It is Singapore’s largest hotel, attracting over 70,000 visits daily and 18 million visitors annually.

The S$150 million rooftop garden project – Skypark covers a mammoth 12,400 square meters area and offers a 360 degree breath-taking bird’s eye view of Singapore’s skyline at its observation deck which has a holding a capacity of 900 people. The garden is meant for guests staying at the Marina Bay Sands, but the public can also visit with a fee of S$20. It is also home to the head-turning 150-metre Infinity swimming pool, one of the world’s largest outdoor pools at three times the length of an Olympic-size pool. Picturesque city backdrop, live trees, sun deck chairs placed cleverly in and out of the water, bar, restaurant and spa, botanical garden with 250 species of trees and 650 plants all add to a mind-blowing experience for its visitors.

Other highlights of the hotel amenities include the Qube Kids Club, the Banyan Tree Spa, the Atrium Shop, lounges, nightclubs, celebrity-chef restaurants, an indoor canal, a museum shaped like a lotus flower and a 15,000 square metres casino. Mega events hosted by the hotel include The Festival of Media Asia, BMW World Exhibition, Dior Opening Party, President’s Design Award Exhibition, Zee Cine Awards, Arts Stage Singapore, and Disney’s Lion King.

Perched above ground by 191 meters, the Infinity is designed and positioned to create the spectacular illusionary effect of water ending with a sheer drop (vanishing into infinity, as the name suggests). In reality, the water spills over the edge into a special catchment beneath.
