Fish Spa for skin treatment is catching on in Singapore! If you see people dipping the legs into a pool of water to feed tiny fish, bingo, they are pampering themselves with a "fishy" spa. This bizarre skin treatment is done by a species of small flesh-eating tropical fish called Garra Ruffa. Once found in the lowly river basins of Turkey, they're now a highly sought after fish in the spa markets of Korea, Japan, Malaysia, and Singapore for treating skin diseases such as psoriasis blotches, flaky and crusty skin, and scabby epidermis. These fish feed themselves on the dead cells of the human body, leaving the healthy skin of the human body to grow. It is believed that they not only remove dead skin cells, but also massage the skin and improve blood circulation.
